Saturday, November 7, 2015 - Deep purple despite having thrown a substantial amount of light sediment (decanting required). Nice berry bouquet although not terribly complex. On the palate, lots of intense berry flavor associations--raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, as well as star anise and a dash of pepper. Well balanced with smooth tannins. Likely will improve for a few more years. Sadly, however, this was my last bottle.
