Thursday, June 14, 2018 - Once again, Les Forts de Latour proves to be my favorite of the Bordeaux second wines. The sense of class here is unmistakable. Such dark color and luxurious mouthfeel. Intensely concentrated currant fruit, along with unmistakably Latour notes of graphite, tobacco leaf, and gravelly minerality, along with some mint. Very ripe palate is well balanced by the acidity. Needed four hours to reach its full potential. Plenty of life ahead, which confirms my impression that Les Forts is a second wine very worthy of aging.
