Monday, January 1, 2018 - Delicious wine. Served on NYE with a triple cream cheese (Delice de Bourgogne) -- a magical combination. A soft, sweetly fruited wine -- and no Cali cola notes. Strawberry and red cherries on the attack, round in the mouth, but with plenty of acid structure keeping it moreish and interesting and balanced. Tannins integrated and a silky texture. I generally drink burgundy now but this struck me as a west coast interpretation of Chambolle -- shoes kicked off, no pretension, inviting and effortless. Bought some 2012 and 2015 Pomarium on the strength of this showing and I rarely buy Cali Pinot any more.
