Tuesday, September 15, 2009 - Poured into a decanter and drank over 2 hours. Medium ruby, very slight brownish hue showing, barely. Had first glass right away, but was quite tight and hot on the finish. After an hour in decanter, it opened up a little, but not fully. Was giving some notes of kirsch, leather, raspberries and a very slight hint of VA on the nose. After 2 hours it showed a bit more on the nose giving further notes of sweaty socks and ripe raspberries…both sweet and sour. On the palate, black raspberry and black cherry with leather. Medium to high acidity, medium tannin, medium body, medium finish. Lots of fruit. But not over the top. This wine is delicious. Needs another 5-10 years to truly show its stuff. Hold. Excellent. 90+
