Thursday, October 18, 2012 - Decanted and poured, this wine has left a fair amount of sediment and it benefits from careful decanting. This wine gave an outstanding showing for its combination of youthful fruit and underlying maturing elements. The aromatics shows black fruits, granite, herbs, underbrush and spice notes. The color is a maturing tarnished dark ruby that is appropriate for the wines age. The medium bodied palate shows excellent overall balance and medium length on the finish with tannins remain present. This is most likely at or around its peak and should continue to drink well over the next six to eight years.
