Sunday, December 15, 2013 - Dark ruby red color. Served cool, about 55F. Some earth, spice, pepper and kirsch on the nose. Palate has lots of ripe red fruit, with some earthy tones, orange pith, a hint of plum, refined tannin, and slightly drying on the finish with kind of persimmon-type astringency. Quite nice and is drinking well now. This should be even more interesting as it ages into it's 2nd and 3rd decades.
