87 Points

Monday, March 3, 2014 - Notes after 12 hours open. Color is dark magenta-black, about 90% opaque, with a light haze and clear average legs. Small amount of sediment. Nose is timid, giving some spicy Syrah notes and light garrigue. Palate feels like it's near maturity by way of smooth tannins, transparent acidity, and invisible alcohol. Flavors are still in development but I don't think there's much more that the wine can offer from this vintage. Slid downhill rapidly into flat and stewy after about 10 hours. 4+10+16+7 = 87

3/4/2014 6:43:00 AM - I don't know Mr. H, I am about 2 bottles away from giving up on CdP altogether. I just don't seem to be "getting' it. Only one that has floated my boat is '07 Clos Des Papes (no duh). I may have a bunch of Beaucastel available for sale real soon. And yet, I really love Paso GSM's!
