Tuesday, October 11, 2016 - From a 375. Light ruby with some bricking appropriate for middle age; nose is aromatic with plenty of red fruit, some meatiness, some spice; palate is medium bodied but good concentration of fruit throughout, surprisingly dense and chewy youthful tannin, medium alcohol and medium fresh acidity, never over-ripe; finish is medium length. Overall at this point this wine does have good CnDP characteristics, though somewhat denser than the average grenache-based wine, atypically youthful tannins for this age and for 5+ years since my last half (and from half!), and good fruit, though lacking the depth of complexity that it may still develop with more time. Has at least 5+, possibly 10 years left. 92
