Sunday, November 27, 2016 - My son killed a rabbit, and made rabbit stew. I opened this wine (in 375mL format) as a salute to his birthyear, and to go with the stew.
Upon opening, it seemed possibly corked. This passed on the 2nd day, where the wine opened up beautifully and seemed well-integrated, with significant soil notes, and great structure with quite noticeable tannins. Showing off mature red fruits, licorice, road tar, garrigue, earthy green peppers, and rocks. Quite complex, quite serious, yet with an underlying elegance. Drink now through 2020+, but in the 375mL format, I will drink my remaining bottles in the next 2-3 years...it's perfect.
