Thursday, July 16, 2020 - Wow, terrific wine. Displayed a medium to light red brick color out of the bottle, definitely a shade or so lighter than a mere 16 years would suggest. But it did not indicate the slightest fault with the wine. Super old world nose right off the bat - saddle leather, roasted espresso, some forest floor. Fruit very present on the palate, with chewy tannins that were nicely rounded at this point, with oak present but restrained. Finish was medium to long, again, nicely drawing out the dark red fruit components but still nicely complimented by the earthiness found on the nose. Really nice. Tough to judge aging for me - I’d say peak now, perhaps another five years, tough for me to consider this a 10yr+ wine at this point.

7/16/2020 6:54:00 PM - The importer, Kermit Lynch, thought this wine would go 30 years. Me, I don't know, but I'm confident of 20-plus!
