Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - Last of 3 bottles, first tried in 2013 and noted some really angry acidic energy that needed calming. Next years bottle still in need of calming. SO...5 years later..there is plenty of richness of ripe yellow pitted fruits...full bodied, some honey and almond butter with age...good dose of vanilla oak spice that works well with the richness...wonderful savory crushed sea shell minerality, subtle smoke, sea salted caramel sweetness. The intense acidity has integrated even more so, but is STILL a force in this wine! Creates nice freshness and energy...but still a little sharp and bitter at times. The ingredients are all there...it is really tasty as hell...just needs another 5 or so years to get that acid to play nicely. Too bad this is my last stop...would love to see how this one plays out.
