Thursday, January 14, 2016 - This wine really grew on me. I decanted for several hours, and at first I just thought it was an alcoholic fruit grenade. But it opened up and really started to taste nice and a bit more balanced. It is so shafer, so stags leap, so napa. Dark black cherry, dark choc, plum, blackberry, and some gravel reminiscent of a pessac leognan almost. The alcohol is still too high in my opinion. And to be honest this is not a great qpr at 70 bucks. Maybe others can find it cheaper. The merlot is the same quality and about 25 bucks cheaper.
