Saturday, December 2, 2017 - I last enjoyed this at the winery back in 2013 soon after release. Showing more complexity, density, and integration from what I recall from my previous notes. Decanted and enjoyed with a grilled steak. Aromatics noticeable from two feet away. Bright concentrated ruby color, very full body. Blackberry, dark cherry, cassis, sandalwood, celery, dark loam and light tobacco aromas and flavors. Well integrated, multilayered, and nicely balanced with a big long finish. Should easily cellar for another eight to ten years. Comes primarily from declassified Hillside Select grapes.
