Friday, May 31, 2019 - In my cellar since purchase at the winery when it was originally on offer there in 2014. Medium lemon yellow with a bright tone and no sign of oxidation. Nose has lemon oil, pear, fresh herbs and wet stones. Acidity is bright and mouth watering but balanced with the fruit that is mostly lemon and pear with nice texture and just the slightest hint of vanilla. Nice mineral aftertaste and long finish. Perfect with a Parmigiana Crusted Corvina at a local restaurant. This has held up very well and rewarded my expectation of it being a good chard to give some cellar age. This is a winery that makes world class chard from Northern Virginia and is worth seeking out!
