Saturday, November 11, 2023 - Last bottle of this absolutely spectacular bottle from Tempier. 95 percent Mourvedre and you won't ever find a better example of that grape variety. Long and deep, but also light on its feet with beautiful fruit and balance. Tannins are fully resolved. Paired perfectly with a roasted half duck with just a few cranberries on the side. Bravo to Daniel Ravier, whom I had the pleasure of seeing again at Bleu Provence in Naples, Florida, and his team.

2/25/2024 6:15:00 AM - I purchased these and the 1998s ex-domaine about 10-12 years ago through Flickinger Wine in Chicago. I knew Daniel Ravier, the Tempier GM, from a visit or two. I emailed him and asked what if these were worthy of buying, and he replied absolutely. A round about way of answering your question, but if your bottles have been stored properly, there is no rush to drink the 1997. My bottle, which was pristine with a good fill, had a long way to go. Marc
