Thursday, July 2, 2020 - Mid mahogany-garnet. Smoke, tea leaf (orange pekoe?), undergrowth, wild fennel, menthol, blackberry; also hints of chewy liquorice bark, salted toffee caramel, white pepper (reminds me of sneezing powder). On the palate it reflects the nose, has thick sweet tannin, generous but integrated, sandy textured in the mid-palate with flavours of lavender cream, chocolate gingers and (almost iodine?). holding well for 10 years.
