So rich and buttery it really needs to be drunk with food, it holds its own with surprising ease with strongly flavoured English ham. A light golden colour, the fruit is still as available as ever, and age is only slowly creeping up on it. No hint of caramel at all yet. Wonderful, and in my experience, a unique expression of Macon / Chardonnay.
