Saturday, March 30, 2019 - Wine Monuments Man Chapter 4 (Berens am Kai 1 star Restaurant): Drank it side by side semiblind with MR 1986
The Italian wine smelled a touch "sweeter" than french one. Both wines were double decanted for about 3 hours. The Mouton was clearly Pauillac nosewise. In the palate there yre no doubts about the origine. If you would drink it alone I would put the Sassicaia to the Bordeaux region, especially after a few hours it is adding to the black currant some graphite, cigarbox and leather notes. Later on more precision and compactness. Great acidity and firm tannins. For me at his peak in regular bottle. From Magnum 1,5 years ago still unbeliavable fresh. 98
