90 Points

Monday, July 6, 2009 - On first opening: Extracted nose of fresh fruit, with a touch of alcohol and definite oak. Did not decant. Wine is drinking well, now, fruit is fresh but still moderate tannin and acid. Lots of fruit still on the palate, but definitely developing a spicebox character with some toast and just a touch of something earth/leather. Long finish, fruity but more complex than that. Signs of age are staring but fruit is still fresh -- and some nice spiciness on the palate. Perhaps a touch alcoholic.
