90 Points

Saturday, December 22, 2007 - My first Silver Oak. I was a tad underwhelmed. Decanted and drank over 4 hours. The nose was not as expressive as I thought it would be. Definitely lots of oak. Dominated by vegetal aromas. Some tobacco and bell pepper, then chocolate later. On the palate, no where near as heavy as I thought it would be, but still nice creamy mouthfeel. Still fairly vegetal with some dark cherry flavors dancing in there. Nice finish. Good wine but definitely not blowing me away.
