Friday, October 16, 2020 - I haven‘t had this in a few years. The color looks fresh, youthful and how it should look for top-notch Grand Cru Chablis. This takes a little time to open up in the glass. Notes of lemon oil, the oak is much better integrated than last time, buttery notes too, creamy richness, lemon zest, but there is also a beautiful minerality of chalk, wet stone, some flint, seashells. With more air there is more fruit coming out and the wine turns a touch spicier too with white pepper, hazelnut and some white blossoms too and a touch of honey. It‘s medium-full bodied, rich and pretty creamy, but with high bracing acidity and piercing minerality. Long finish with beautiful complexity. This seems to be at he beginning of peak-drinking. Lovely Chablis Grand Cru from this cool, classic vintage.
