As to the wine, it is spectacular. aromatics are bright red cherry, a bit of tar and pine. Gorgeous . In the mouth, still lively but across the years the acidity has mellowed. The wine is supple and sensuous. Ripe cherry, a hint of tar, spice and a finish topped off by fine, caressing tannins. I have had the pleasure of dozens and dozens of Baroli and this one is easily in the top five. Last bottle. Sadly nostalgic.
