Friday, July 6, 2018 - Beautifully mature Barolo. Ripe cherry, a bit of menthol on the nose. Floral and a bit of alcohol. Mouthfeel is exquisitely soft but immediately spicy - the acidity is still lively and focuses the center of the wine. Flavors are black cherry, stewed fruit (red fruit) with prominent acidity carrying into a lengthy finish that reveals tar at about the 15 - 30 second mark. This is a gorgeous wine. Plenty of life left but definitely in the drinking window.
