Friday, January 1, 2010 - Color: Dark hue with red edges, lively and still mostly youthful
Nose & Palate: Black berry and cherry aromas, some sweet oak and spice. The fruit is there but delicate. Paired poorly with a maple & honey crusted ham as the sweetness from the pork knocked out the fruit from the Cabernet, leaving bare the tannin and acidity. Choose wisely a good food match. On its own the fruit was there and came right back.
