89 Points

Monday, December 25, 2006 - I have to agree with some of the other tasters on CT. The fruit seems to have faded considerably since the first time I tried it. When I had it the first time, it was screaming with juicy black fruits. This time, however, the fruit was but a whisper. What remains, nonetheless, is a wine that has aged gracefully, with prominent notes of cedar, tobacco, and autumn leaves -- which is appropriate, I suppose, for a wine in its autumn years. As it opened up with air, some muted elements of blackberries and cassis did appear. After about 4 hours, the wine started to fade and decline. My recommendation is to go ahead and drink this wine, as I don't really think it will get much better with time.
