Monday, June 2, 2014 - De Loach Tasting (Top Wines): Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of smoky toasted oak, strawberry, and boysenberry. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol, smooth medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of smoky toasted oak, strawberry, boysenberry, dark cherries, slight ?anise spice, and a touch of leafiness - showing up the difficult conditions of the 2010 vintage in Sonoma.
Very good quality Zinfandel. Nice drinking now, and will continue over the next 2-3 years.
