While Pommard is a powerful Burgundy this is a very beefy wine and to my mind atypical of what to expect from the region. Perhaps it will develop into something more sophisticated with time. (Replaced with a 1998 Clos des Lambrays which was a perfect match for ham hock and potato gratin).
