Wednesday, October 10, 2018 - Bottle variation? First tasted early 2016. Undrinkable: horrible astringency with surgical gauze, iodine, and other medicinal tones. Islay from Hell soaked in raisins? Wanted to chuck the lot, but decided to wait until now. Afraid to fowl a decent stem, but after reading CT chose a nice Burgundy bowl. Pleasantly surprised, and like Islay it may grow on the novice. Fine wine? But far from ordinary: Good fruit and balance in a savory sweet n' sour package. Nice woody tones--lets hear for stems and seeds! Intriguing...wow...
