Tuesday, September 13, 2016 - Cracked my second bottle of this for Tonton's birthday down at Pawleys. Wines don't usually show quite as well in Pawleys for me, not sure if it's the travel leading to bottle shock (though I kill myself to keep everything as cool as possible), the glassware, or something in the air, but this bottle was an exception. Almost as sensational as my first bottle, this really got going after about an hour of air, with a nose that jumped out of the glass and a lovely clean finish. Typical sous voile profile, but more elegant than just about any other sous voile I've had. Also, I'll just note here that while I've loved my two bottles of the '09, my one bottle of '11 so far was vastly inferior. Hoping that '11 was an off bottle, or maybe I'm just a sucker for the big years (at least in sous voile Juras).
