Wednesday, May 19, 2021 - Despite professional notes of nearing “old”, we found the wine to be fresh and plenty of tannins indicating more life in this wine. Opened/decanted for an hour, probably could have used 2+. There were strong notes of tobacco, tar, leather and deep fruit on the nose. On the palate, the wine showed tobacco, black raspberry, and perhaps a bit of menthol. Long finish.
