Saturday, October 12, 2013 - another bottle: nose - hints of oak and vanilla; taste: as described below, but tasty when paired with good pizza; overall: decent everyday wine which offers good QPR -- easy availability to it in northern Japan is not taken for granted!

6/21/13 - 82 points: color: purple velvet cinema upholstery; nose: faintest aroma of berries and vanilla -- hardly any; taste: medium-bodied bright fruit taste, medium-length finish with bittersweet chocolate notes and slightly tangy tannins; overall: serviceable but ordinary, pleasant but imperfect pour -- no great shakes but, hey, it's carried in Japanese supermarkets for the equivalent of about $11
