Saturday, April 27, 2013 - Bassins 28th Annual California Barrel Tasting (Mandarin Hotel, Washington, DC): Barrel blend, not final. This was much harder to gauge. Shy, close nose. Palate was a darker fruit profile, still lively, but more concentrated with very prominent and somewhat coarse tannins. Seemed more “typical” of MB, but I don’t have any experience at this stage to compare to. Should be very good. NR
