Sunday, March 12, 2017 - Inky dark in the glass. A nose that at first is a little offsetting. But, give it a decant and time and this wine turns into a beauty. A nose of oak, florals, vanilla. The pallet is soft and elegant but still firm with structure given its age. Notes of cassis, raspberry, vanilla, mocha. I paired it with BGE salmon and it was wonderful, not overpowering. A nice full finish that lingers. I score it a 94 based on its wonderful performance following more than a decade of waiting for dinner.
