Sunday, May 7, 2017 - With a soupçon of burgundy elegance injected into this adequately aged gamay, there was little trace of purple or Beaujolais emphasis. A very smooth assemblage of well- integrated smoked cherry, moist earth, bramble scents and a dark black/ red color. Little on the nose.

Having said all of that, and acknowledging the refined hands at work, this was not as interesting as a 2104, more characteristic, Foillard or a fine Bourgogne rouge from 2015, both of which would reflect better their terroirs.
