Friday, June 2, 2017 - This wine seems to finally be in a good place; significant improvement over the prior bottles drank in both 2013 and 2015. With a short decant, it opened with smoky, and earthy aromatics followed by spicy, red currant; tart cherry; leafy tobacco; dusty earth; and some chewy, but manageable tannin. Tannin and acidity support a long finish. Paired very well with baked salmon topped with pesto infused bread crumbs. Drinking well at present and should cellar well for another 5+ years.
