Thursday, May 10, 2018 - Last of four bottles, the other three of which I hated. This one is different. Nose has a prominent anise component, with black plum and cassis behind, all vaguely smoky. Palate follows, surprisingly not super tannic, just a port wine chewiness. I found the other three bottles disturbingly sweet; this one is quite dry though there is still sweetness on the nose. This is why wine is fun; also why you should take notes! I still don't love this wine, but it's interesting.
