Monday, May 14, 2018 - The 1979 Calon-Ségur from a perfectly stored bottle was a real treat. The wine showed a lot of tobacco, smoked paprika (especially on the nose), and leather but balanced out with a fresh blackcurrant acidity. 1979 was not a top vintage in Bordeaux, but this Calon-Ségur performed nicely and turned out to be a perfect match to a dry aged steak.
