Thursday, November 28, 2013 - Monthly Tasting Group LTB; Rioja: Wine of a very rare grape. I was told there are only about 10 acres of this grape throughout Spain. Don't know if it is true, but after tasting the wine I can understand it. The wine has hardly any bouquet. With some effort I thought I smelled white fruits. On the palate tart apple, some minerals, tart grapefruit and a firm amount of bitterness. Not really outspoken. Not really bad, but not really interesting either, except for the fact that this is a quite unique grape.
