Saturday, January 26, 2013 - Dinner with friends. Roast duck, butternut squash risoto, and white bean and kale soup. Wonderful meal, good wines.
Cork came out whole and was 3/4 permeated.
Wine was clear, lite, with evident bricking.
Nose was pleasantly complex, still some fruit but notes of cinnamon and spice show the age.
Palate was a nice complement to the duck. Nice complexity that didn't rise to the level of greatness I was hoping for.
The finish was medium length.
This was a nicely aged wine. No flaws but just didn't quite hit the high notes I was hoping for.
