It still had a vibrant deep garnet color with no signs of aging. I opened the bottle in the morning to remove deposits and put it back in, waited 10 hours and decanted the wine 1 hour prior to tasting.
Typical nose of Pessac, my friends knew what it was right from the start (it was a blind tasting), but since the wine was so good, it was hard to guess it was from '83. They were calling 15 years old, one even said 2009.
Deep and enjoyable moment for a great wine!
