Wednesday, October 9, 2013 - This light-to-medium golden wine epitomizes what has driven many true lovers of the Chardonnay grape away from California. It is a medium-bodied, flabby, heavily-oaked, "creamy and buttery" offering which has some redeeming pear and citrus notes. Too much like drinking an oak plank, this is one to be poured into the spit bucket. I wish I could say that the bottle was bad, but no such luck. Enjoy the tour of the castle, but my advice would be to pass on this wine when it comes to the tasting portion. Drink...never.
