Friday, December 9, 2022 - Nose exhibits tart cherry, oak, spice, earth, graphite, and dark fruit. On the palate, the wine is rich, bold and powerful with tart red fruit, which has taken more than 3 hour of air to fully open up. Unlike the 96 Laurent Bonnes Mares and Mazis Chambertin that are drinking well with fully-resolved oak, the CDLR still needs some time for the oak to fully integrate. The 96 vintage is one of the best vintages for Laurent in my view.
