Does not like this wine:

82 Points

Monday, June 30, 2014 - A rich, rather powerful wine of excellent value for self-mortificators.

A fruity, young, richly aromatic nose with some unusual components. Kamphor, Blutsaft, iron ore, rust, dusty gravel road, dark cherries and soap. Divergent rather than integrated.

On the palate it has exactly the aromas from making raspberry jam together with a German "herbal medicinal drink" and iron ore. Acids are M++ and tannins are M. An edgy wine with hints of immature grapes. Fabulous intensity, a great punch and good concentration. And there are some ... unusual ... aromas abundant. Far from easy drinking. Not so near 'pleasure' for my palate.

Not the quaffer it was intended to be, more towards a raunchy example of S&M in a glass. Objectively a good wine with some added qualities, but... If this is its 'minerality' or 'sense-of-place' I seriously prefer other terroirs.

Maybe it's the grape?
However, I'm not skilled enough to tell...
Need to work harder on this wine thing!
