Saturday, October 1, 2011 - Medium ruby core with very little fade at the rim; very youthful tapenade smoky cassis, so undeveloped. Quite recalcitrant and unyielding. Quite concentrated and intense, brooding, licorice - takes some coaxing. Black cherry; beautifully defined palate, fruit and mouthfeel are sensational. Hugely complex Layers of flavour. Totally seductive. Austere yet classically wonderful. Really fills the mouth and delivers though not flashy. Complex finish with excellent length.
