Wednesday, October 31, 2007 - Second time we had this with the '96. This time the '89 came out on top. Absolutely mature and ready to drink, this had everything going, including the smoke that seems to me to be characteristic of the vintage. Not quite as fruity or aromatic as the the '96, but, IMO, had greater depth and character.
