Thursday, August 1, 2002 - Moderate sediment. Bright disc, with deep (nearly opaque) red/amber robe and orange rim. Clean nose, showing very intense smokey black cherry, leather, earth, minerals and spicy plum. Good acidity for an '89, with ample but supple tannins and a medium to full-bodied palate. Similar flavors as nose. Medium, slightly hot finish. Very nice overall. Will likely further improve but is drinking quite well now.
