Saturday, December 2, 2017 - Has consistently scored 94, although the maturity has changed in the 23 years since a tasting with Bruno Prats, the character of the wine has remained the same. Earliest harvest since 1893 avoided some of the pitfalls of a hot year. Peaked in 07. Lovely bramble and oak. Previously noted pleasant sous bois/ farmyard (funk?) but not this time. Very long dry finish with a touch of liquorice. Lovely fully integrated old claret. Beautiful balance. Drink up, although I expect the slow decline to take a decade or more.
