96 Points

Saturday, August 17, 2019 - This was an easy 96 points for me, maybe even 97 points.

Just enough age, just enough liveliness. All the flavors integrated and in balance – fruit, oak, acid, and tannins all working together nicely. Excellent mouthfeel, long finish. A testament to the benefits of aging quality Bordeaux and drinking them at the correct time.

Tons of dark chocolate, but also uplifting (dark) red fruits, classic Bordeaux "graphite" vibe, some earthiness and mushrooms, black licorice, a hint of coffee, as well as wood (think cedar).

Living up to the St. Estephe profile, it's definitely a powerful wine that can go for quite a few more years (5+)...but right now, it is so delicious and probably in a good spot to drink.

Highly recommended.
