Saturday, April 17, 2021 - Popping the impeccably intact cork released a voluptuous wave of rich fruit and a typical Bordeaux nose. However, that left rather quickly. Pouring the wines into the decanter revealed a deep tawny color and an all out tertiary aromas. It was pretty reserved and tight at first, but after an hour or two, it started to show distinct flavors, such as forest floor, mushroom, cured beef, cedar, and some hints of smoke. Tannins were well integrated, but present enough to hold up well with food. The acidity was right were I would expect and was in perfect balance. Overall, if you love fully matured wines, this will be a treat.
Also, this had better balance when it was a served a little cooler (60 deg F - ish)
