Friday, August 17, 2018 - Lost Friday afternoon gathering – Jamet, Grange des Peres, Raveneau, Chave, Pignan and etc. (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): I mixed up the bottles and served blind thinking it was the 78 Burgundy. Amy and Mark comment that the color is incredible dark and opaque. Expressive nose displaying cherry cough syrup, cherry jam, cinnamon, pepper, a hint of sous bois and earth. Excellent concentration, packed dense jammy red fruit, unctuous yet silky, good acidity, strong earthy mineral and a long concentrated jammy black fruit driven finish with earth and cinnamon at the end. It gets sweeter and more complex with air. Pleasant surprise.
